Rowbuy warehouse pairs: shelf arrival, photo inspection, storage countdown

Five pairs for the weeks your items spend in China. This is where most of the waiting happens, and where two statuses that sound finished are not.

Stored and QC approved

Stored

The package has reached the warehouse and been booked in. Nothing has been judged yet.

Orders page status

QC approved

You have looked at the photos of your actual item and approved it into your parcel.

Your account, after the QC notice

Swap costseeing Stored, assuming the item is ready to ship, and missing that the photos still wait for you.

Rowbuy's Forwarding page spells out the first one: after you submit a tracking number, "Once the status shows 'Stored', you can go to 'Warehouse' to select the items to be packed and shipped." Its QC article describes the second: a notice arrives once the photos exist, you look them over while logged in, then "approve to move the item into your parcel, or raise a concern".

So Stored is a delivery receipt and approval is a decision. Between them sits the one moment where a wrong colour or a damaged seam can still go back to the seller cheaply. Rowbuy says it contacts you first if its own staff spot an issue; do not count on that for size or shade, which only you can judge against what you ordered.

Free storage window versus storage ceiling

Free window

90 days from arrival without a storage charge.

Homepage "Storage Service" tile

Ceiling

120 days in total. Rowbuy does not say what happens to items still there after that.

Same tile, first half of the sentence

Swap costreading "up to 120 days" as "120 free days", then meeting an unpublished charge for days 91 to 120.

The homepage service tile reads "Up to 120 days storage, first 90 days free; orders can be shipped together", and a promotional strip says "Free Warehousing for 90 Days". The storage help article gives no number and adds that parcels "start moving toward consolidation and shipping soon after they arrive". The price for days 91 to 120 is not public.

Count from the day an item turns Stored, not from the day you paid; seller shipping inside China can take days. If you collect items for one parcel over several weeks, the earliest arrival decides when the whole parcel runs out of free days. Our storage countdown takes that first Stored date and returns both dates.

Consolidation and packing reinforcement

Consolidation

Several of your Stored items combined into a single parcel.

Warehouse selection, then parcel submission

Packing and reinforcement

How that parcel is wrapped: packaging by item size, extra protection where needed.

Homepage "Packing & Reinforcement" tile

Swap costasking for heavy padding on soft clothes and pushing the box into a higher dimensional step.

Rowbuy's storage article explains why consolidation matters: shipping is "priced largely by weight and volume", so one box usually costs much less than several. The homepage lists packing as a separate service, "cost-effective packaging based on item size", backed by a one-line packaging page in the footer. Neither page lists a reinforcement price.

The two pull in opposite directions. Combining items cuts minimum charges; padding adds volume, and volume is what the US divisor punishes. Soft goods travel fine in a snug bag. Glass bottles, frames and watches deserve protection. Decide per item, not per parcel, and check the dimensional weight again before paying.

Fill&buy and Forwarding

Fill&buy

Rowbuy buys an item from a link you type in by hand, with name, options, unit price and seller delivery.

rowbuy.com/orderPlacement

Forwarding

You buy the item yourself and have the seller ship it to the Rowbuy warehouse; you register the tracking number.

rowbuy.com/forwarding

Swap costusing Forwarding for something you expected Rowbuy to purchase, so nobody ever orders it.

Fill&buy is for listings that the search box cannot open. It asks for the product link, a name, specifications such as colour and size, a unit price in yuan, a quantity and the seller's delivery cost. Unsure of the price? The form suggests a figure below 10 yuan and Rowbuy works out the real figure afterwards. During our checks, four Taobao listings bounced from the product page straight to this form.

Forwarding is the opposite job. Rowbuy buys nothing; it waits for your own package. Do not copy the warehouse address from the public Forwarding page: on October 24 it showed a template address that asks to be replaced with a real one. Get the address from your logged-in account, or ask support.

Unpack-and-count service versus inspection photographs

Unpack and count

A parcel service that opens your package and counts the pieces. Shown at USD 0.00.

Forwarding page: "Parcel Value-Added Services"

QC photos

Free photos of each actual item, sent for your review before anything ships abroad.

Account, after the QC notice

Swap costthinking a correct count means a correct item. Count says how many; photos say which and in what state.

The only value-added service on Rowbuy's public Forwarding page is labelled in Chinese, 拆包清点(自定义), which translates as "unpack and count (custom)". The price beside it reads USD 0.00, and the data behind it describes it as free on arrival. It matters most for Forwarding parcels, where several items come in one seller box.

QC photos are the bigger tool. There is no published photo count per item and no price list for extra shots, so ask before you need a close-up. When you review a set, the listing and QC pair lists what to compare.
